Enjoy a journey around the world and back in time, through thousands of invaluable pieces. The Metropolitan Museum of Art (or MET as it is affectionately known) is the largest art museum in the United States. It is also one of the best in the world, as are the Louvre, Uffizi and the Prado. With this electronic ticket you can enjoy quick access for three days to all the exhibitions of the three MET locations.
Real New Yorkers, passionate art, and tourists all have the Metropolitan Museum of Art or (MET) at the top of their list. This is because it is one of the world’s great museums, and brilliantly organized by theme, so you can focus on the areas you are most excited about.
The highlights include the European Painting area with works by El Greco, Rembrandt, Rafael, Van Gogh, and many many more.
The Period Rooms is another must-see, with carefully recreated originals or examples of interior design from all eras. There’s a Louis XIV ultra-luxurious grand salon, an ancient Roman room buried by the eruption of Vesuvius, fixtures from colonial American homes, and much more.
The Egyptian collection is another key point that encompasses all ages. Miniature statues, examples of mummies, and even a temple to the goddess Isis.
These are, of course, only suggestions. Design your own day, and with 17 different areas, it will be more than enough to deserve a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
The Met (5th Ave): Show your digital ticket at the Advance / Group box at the end of the lobby at the main entrance. The Met Breuer + The Met Cloisters: Show your digital ticket at the ticket office at the entrance. They will give you a sticker that you must carry during your visit.
The MET’s main location is on Fifth Avenue. The nearby (10-minute walk) MET Breuer focuses on 20th and 21st century art. The MET Cloisters is in Fort Tryon Park in Washington Heights. Medieval European art is displayed in religious buildings transported here piece by piece from Europe.
