Visit the Pergamon Museum, a true bastion of classical sculptures, imposing architectural elements, splendid tapestries and enough pieces of historical value to film a thousand Indiana Jones movies. Among its main attractions are the famous Istar Gate, a fragment of the Gilgamesh Epic or the Miletus Market Gate.
There are three main thematic sections in the famous Pergamon Museum in Berlin: the Collection of classical antiques, the Museum of Islamic Art and the Museum of the Near East.
The exhibits come from Greece, Rome, Babylon and the Near East, and show how advanced the societies that occupied these territories were in ancient times. One of the main claims is the Istar Gate. This wall covered with light blue glazed ceramics shows the gods of the city of Babylon, in the form of dragons, lions and bulls.
A stone fragment of the Gilgamesh Epic is also exposed, one of the oldest known literary pieces that, it is said, influenced Homer’s works and even the Bible.
Show the digital ticket at the entrance of the Pergamon Museum and enter without queues. The entrance with schedule for Das Panorama is made 1 hour and a half after the time selected for the Museum. Show the digital ticket at the exhibition entrance.
