Depart from Cuzco, the capital of the Inca empire, and prepare to travel high above the Apurímac River in search of one of the most beautiful birds in Peru. Before reaching the highlight of the tour, you will see two archaeological sites, Kilarumiyoc and Tarahuasi, where your guide will give you a brief lesson on Inca culture and modern Peruvian society outside of cities.
Kilarumiyoc, a temple dedicated to the moon and fertility, and Tarahuasi, an Incastructure called tambo, offer you the opportunity to delve into the ancient Inca rituals and take photos with fewer crowds than at Machu Picchu.
After reaching the town of Chonta, you will start the trail to the Condor valley. Along the way you will have views of the snowy summit of Mount Salkantay and the Limatambo valley. If you have not yet unsheathed the camera, hurry up because you will have the opportunity to see condors flying over your head.
